A Bit About Me
As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and LGBTQ+ ally, I create a therapeutic environment where all identities and neurotypes are welcomed, validated, and supported. My practice is built on the foundation that diversity in all forms—including neurological diversity and gender/sexual identity—enriches our human experience and deserves celebration.
About My Work
We often find ourselves caught in overwhelming life cycles, wanting change but unsure where to begin. Our life experiences—both positive and negative—create behavioral patterns that define our relationships with ourselves and others.
My therapy approach helps you:
Recognize your inherent strengths
Develop greater self-compassion
Examine current thought patterns with curiosity
This process typically improves both self-relationship and connections with others. I draw from multiple frameworks including: Attachment theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Neuro-Diversity Affirming, Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Informed, and Family Systems theory.
This journey is yours—I meet you where you are and move at your pace. For those whose healing involves faith or spirituality, I honor all spiritual and religious paths and perspectives. All of you and your experiences are welcome.
Play Therapy
I am a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy (A4pt.org) and I am Certified in AutPlay Therapy (AutPlay).
I believe that play is the natural language of children. Through carefully designed play experiences, children can communicate their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that verbal expression alone cannot achieve. My therapeutic space is equipped with carefully selected toys and materials that facilitate emotional expression, storytelling, and symbolic play.
My approach is child-led but therapist-guided, allowing children to direct their own healing journey while receiving appropriate support and boundaries. I incorporate various modalities including:
Child-Centered Play Therapy
Sandtray Therapy
Expressive Arts
Movement
Mindfulness
Through the therapeutic relationship and power of play, children develop resilience, self-awareness, and the emotional tools needed to thrive.
Parents and caregivers are essential partners in the therapeutic process. I provide regular consultation, education, and support to help families understand play therapy and extend its benefits beyond our sessions.
I utilize play therapy with adults as well. I believe we all have younger parts of ourselves that desire to play.
Parent Support and Direction
I specialize in supporting families with neurodiverse children and family members. My practice focuses on providing parents with effective strategies and compassionate guidance to navigate the unique challenges and celebrate the strengths that neurodiversity brings to family dynamics.
My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based interventions with practical, real-world solutions tailored to each family's specific needs. I believe that parents are the experts on their children, and my role is to collaborate with you to develop personalized strategies that work within your family's unique context.
I offer a blend of:
Parent coaching to develop effective communication strategies
Family systems therapy to improve home dynamics
Cognitive-behavioral techniques adapted for neurodiverse individuals
Practical skill-building for everyday challenges
Advocacy guidance for educational and community settings
I bring years of personal parenting and family experience and over six years of experience working with parents and families; I specialize in supporting kids and parents with navigating ADHD, autism spectrum, sensory processing differences, and other neurodevelopmental variations. I recognize that each family's journey is unique; I honor the journey by providing a judgment-free space where parents can express frustrations, celebrate victories, and develop confidence in supporting their neurodiverse family members.
I am committed to helping your family thrive by focusing on strengths, building resilience, and creating sustainable support systems that honor neurodiversity as a valuable part of human experience.
Couples Therapy
Helping partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and rebuild intimacy through research-backed approaches. Whether you're facing communication breakdowns, navigating major life transitions, or seeking to deepen your connection, my couples therapy services provide the tools for relationship growth and healing.
I believe every couple has the capacity for growth and deeper connection when provided with the right tools and understanding.
ADHD brings unique dynamics to relationships that are often misunderstood or pathologized. I view ADHD not simply as a disorder but as a different way of processing and engaging with the world. By leveraging the strengths that come with ADHD (creativity, hyperfocus, enthusiasm) while developing strategies for the challenges, couples can build relationships that honor both partners' needs and ways of being.
My therapeutic approach with all couples is collaborative and strengths-based, recognizing that ADHD brings both challenges and gifts to a relationship. I incorporate various modalities including:
Gottman Method for Couples
Mindfulness practices for attention and presence
Play-based interventions to improve connection
Psychoeducation about ADHD's impact on relationships
Skills training for communication and organization
Experiential exercises that accommodate different processing styles
Individual Therapy
Supporting adults and children (ages 5+) through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, and personal growth. My individual therapy adapts to your unique needs, providing personalized strategies for healing and self-discovery.
Caregiver burnout
I combine evidence-based therapeutic techniques with compassionate listening to address the specific needs of caregivers. My practice integrates trauma-informed care, mindfulness strategies, and practical tools that fit into your busy schedule. I believe that healing and self-care are not luxuries, but necessities for sustainable caregiving.
Areas of Focus
Recognizing and addressing burnout symptoms before they become overwhelming
Setting healthy boundaries while maintaining compassionate care
Processing grief and loss common in caregiving roles
Reclaiming your identity beyond the caregiver role
Building sustainable self-care practices
Developing resilience and emotional regulation skills
Family Therapy
Strengthening family systems through improved communication, conflict resolution, and attachment-focused interventions. My family therapy approach helps restore harmony while honoring each family member's individual needs and perspectives.
