Family & ParentingTherapy
Support for families and parents when things could be better
Families are complex, layered, and ever-changing. Even the most loving families come with challenges. Whether you're navigating divorce, parenting a child with big emotions, feeling overwhelmed, or simply trying to parent differently than you were parented, therapy can offer support, clarity, and a space to reconnect.
Children and teens often get criticized for "knowing better" while not "acting better", but adults struggle with this too. We know that lecturing kids doesn’t change behavior, scrolling social media doesn’t ease anxiety, and certain interactions with our partners always lead to conflict—yet when we’re stressed, we still do them. This is because our brains and nervous systems are designed to shut down our most logical, mature responses when we’re under stress. But there are ways to support and grow our nervous systems to manage stress and emotions, improving relationships for the whole family.
At Pflugerville Counseling Center, we provide therapy for families and parents who want more ease and connection at home—even when life is messy…

Reasons Families Come to Therapy
Struggles with communication, boundaries, or emotional safety
Parenting burnout, overwhelm, or feeling stuck in old patterns
Family transitions like divorce, remarriage, or relocation
Supporting kids with anxiety, ADHD, neurodivergence, or big behaviors
Exploring generational patterns and creating new ways of parenting
Feeling disconnected as a family or unsure how to move forward
We’re here to help you slow things down, understand what’s really going on, and build relationships that feel more connected and intentional.
What to Expect
Family therapy at PCC is collaborative—we’ll meet you with compassion and curiosity, not shame or blame. We offer practical tools, insight into child development and nervous system needs, and space to explore how your family interacts, communicates, and grows together.
For many, this includes parent coaching, where we help you understand your child’s needs, your own patterns, and how to parent in a way that aligns with your values and feels sustainable. Family therapy is also pretty experiential (creative, active, etc)- meaning we know sitting in a room talking with kids isn’t always the most helpful, developmentally appropriate, or trauma/nervous system informed approach.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
There’s no perfect family. But there is support—and room to grow. We’d love to work with you, wherever you are on this journey. We also offer an Attachment Based Parenting Education Group and parenting programs. Reach out to schedule a session or free consultation.
