"It's not too difficult to get the skeletons out of the closet with people, but to get the gold out is a different matter. That is therapy. Psychology is the Art of finding the gold of the spirit."  Robert Johnson

Supervision and Training

PCC loves teaching and training! We provide parenting groups within the community, enjoy supporting educators, and love collaborating and learning with our colleagues around various therapy topics. We love teaching about the effects of trauma on development and behaviors to parents, educators, and any of you who are invested in the lives of kids and families. We also offer workshops on marriage and parenting. (And, as a bonus, we always come prepared with snacks!) Please contact PCC if interested in scheduling a training/workshop for your office, school, church, or agency.

Cristy Ragland, LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, also provides supervision for those working towards licensure:

Cristy is a Board approved LPC and LMFT Supervisor through the State of Texas. Supervision provides the opportunity to have a safe challenging place to grow into what it means to be a counselor.  Cristy believes that a good supervision experience balances well the need to learn a variety of skills to work with clients with the process of knowing oneself more fully in the room. She works well with supervisees that are committed to openness, curiosity, vulnerability, and a deep desire to grow, learn, and discover.

Cristy's own supervision experience allowed her the opportunity to take risks, fail, explore, and become. Her hope is that the supervisory relationship is an authentic, helpful relationship in which associates can more fully understand clients, the therapy process, and themselves. She expects associates to be engaged in ongoing training and learning and self-care throughout supervision. Supervision will also be a place where we are learning what it means to be anti racist and inclusive within our clinical work. Ideally the intern has started some training in working with attachment and trauma.

Some people are seeking supervision only, meaning they have a place in which they are receiving hours and are looking for outside supervision.  PCC offers a monthly 2 hour group supervision on Thursday morning (8:30-10:30) and biweekly 1 hour individual supervision to equal four hours a month of supervision.  Currently, Cristy will have space for new interns in Winter of 2021.  Rates: $100.00  per supervision hour.

At times, there is availability for associates to see clients through PCC.  Supervision is structured the same: 2 hour monthly group (First Thursday morning of the month) and 1 hour biweekly individual sessions.  Supervisees are W2 employees.  Rates: $85.00 per supervision hour

Please feel free to reach out to Cristy if you are interested in discussing possible supervision.
